What is Radiology?
Radiology is a medical specialty that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat diseases. It is divided into diagnostic and interventional radiology. Radiologists, medical doctors specializing in this field, interpret medical images. Diagnostic imaging involves various tests that capture images of the body's internal structures. Standard exams include X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, CT scans, and PET scans.
Radiologists examine the results of imaging tests to identify relevant images that support a diagnosis and provide interpretive reports to referring physicians. Radiology is crucial in various healthcare sectors, including surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, oncology, trauma response, emergency medicine, and infectious disease.
Early and accurate diagnosis, especially in cancer cases, can be life-saving. Radiology has diverse applications and uses various imaging exams.
Our Services
All the below modalities are offered daily.
Urgent exams are able to be done when you need them, typically on the same day they are ordered.
All images are able to electronically be shared with outside specialists on the same day.
Echocardiograms
MMH Now Offers Echocardiograms Monday-Friday.
An Echo is a test that takes moving images of the heart using an ultrasound machine, allowing for accurate measurements of the heart chambers and major vessels. This checks for deformities, leaky heart valves, tumors, the overall function of the heart, and more.
