Dr. JD Bailey II, MD  

Dr. Bailey is a retired U.S. Air Force officer with over 30 years of medical experience and is a Board-Certified Family Medicine practitioner with more than 24 years in practice. He is passionate about all aspects of Family Medicine, particularly pre-hospital and occupational medicine. Recently relocated to Holyoke from Crestview, FL, Dr. Bailey previously operated a private practice and served as the Medical Director for a major county EMS service. He and his wife, Penny, are excited to engage with the Holyoke community and explore local activities.

Dr. Craig McCarty, MD, PhD – Chief of Staff 

Dr. McCarty has spent six years providing comprehensive family care in Phillips County, treating patients of all ages. An alumnus of the University of Colorado, he holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and molecular biology, a master’s in wildlife biology, and a PhD in epidemiology from Colorado State University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University in Grenada in 2004. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. McCarty enjoys hunting, fishing, and antique restoration. His dedication to serving the healthcare needs of rural communities stems from his upbringing in rural Colorado.

Jessica Bullard, FNP  

Jessica is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the AANP, having completed her Master’s in Nursing in 2020. She joined MMH in November 2022. A native of Otis, Colorado, Jessica earned her LPN in 2009 and her RN in 2013 from Morgan Community College. Her nursing career began at age 15 in a Yuma nursing home, inspiring her path in healthcare. After overcoming a personal medical challenge, she pursued her FNP. Jessica and her husband, along with their three children and three dogs, enjoy boating, fishing, and camping during the summer. She is eager to build health partnerships within the community while practicing a broad range of medicine at Melissa Memorial.

Derek Doorn, FNP-DPN 

Derek Doorn has over 20 years of healthcare experience and joined the MMH team in May 2018. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from South Dakota State University in 1995 and earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Northern Colorado in 2017. With a background in hospitals, long-term care, and hospice, Derek is dedicated to serving rural communities. He enjoys spending time with his family on their farm and has hobbies that include reading, golfing, and playing guitar. At MMH, Derek provides family care, DOT examinations, Coumadin management, and trigger point injections.

Jessica Skomp, FNP  

Jessica Skomp is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, having completed her FNP program at the University of Northern Colorado in 2015, beginning her journey with MMH shortly after. Jessica also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Jessica is passionate about family practice, wellness, and preventative medicine. Jessica has been married to her husband, Chance, since 2006. They own and operate a commercial black Angus ranch and have two boys. She enjoys raising and showing cowhorses. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community through her work at MMH.

Dr. Lawrence G. Davis 

General Surgeon 

Dr. Davis is board-certified in General Surgery, having earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, CA, and specializes in trauma, emergency surgery, outreach surgical care, and consulting services for community hospitals.

Dr. Erik Bowman 

Orthopedic Surgeon  

An experienced orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Bowman has specialized fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstruction. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed his residency training with a focus on orthopedic surgery. 

Dr. Brian Davis  

Sports Medicine & Shoulder, Knee, & Elbow Surgeon

Dr. Brian Davis is a skilled orthopedic surgeon based in Colorado, specializing in sports medicine, as well as shoulder, knee, and elbow surgery. With extensive experience in treating a variety of conditions affecting these areas, he is adept in advanced surgical techniques, including arthroscopy, shoulder replacements, and revisions of previous surgeries. Dr. Davis is particularly focused on sports-related injuries, offering specialized treatments such as ACL reconstructions to help athletes return to their active lifestyles.

Dr. John Drury  

Cardiology Specialist  

Dr. John Drury is a dedicated cardiologist with a rich educational background from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. His training continued at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, where he completed his residency and internship. Dr. Drury is committed to providing exceptional care in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, ensuring his patients receive the highest quality of medical attention.

Dr. Michael Stone  

Oncologist  

Located in Greeley, Colorado, Dr. Michael Stone brings over 20 years of experience as an oncologist. He graduated with his medical degree from the prestigious Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Stone is affiliated with several hospitals in the region and is dedicated to delivering comprehensive cancer care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr. Maheep Sohal, M.D.  

Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist

Dr. Maheep Sohal is an esteemed ENT specialist with over a decade of experience. His expertise includes treating sinus issues, sleep-related breathing disorders, thyroid conditions, and various general ENT problems. He completed his medical education at the University of Connecticut and advanced his training in sinus and nasal surgery at the University of Arizona, focusing on minimally invasive techniques.  

Dr. Sohal provides surgical interventions for thyroid diseases and sleep apnea, including the innovative Inspire implant, ensuring tailored care for head and neck tumors, as well as hearing and balance issues. Known for his patient-centered approach, he collaborates closely with other specialists to optimize treatment outcomes and enhance patient comfort.

Andrew Ramirez, P.A.  

Cardiovascular

Andrew Ramirez has been a dedicated Physician Assistant since graduating from Anne Arundel College in 2004. With a strong background in Emergency Medicine and Cardiology, he is recognized as a knowledgeable and compassionate provider.

He began his cardiology career in San Diego, gaining extensive experience in clinical research and earning recognition as a sub-investigator in published studies. He also holds a Master’s Certification in Lipidology from the National Lipid Association.

Andrew has managed cardiology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, valuing the relationships he builds with them. He finds fulfillment in witnessing their progress and improved quality of life.

Originally from San Diego, he moved to Evergreen in 2012, where he lives with his wife and four daughters. An outdoor enthusiast, Andrew enjoys hiking, cycling, and exploring the beauty of Colorado in his free time.
