Quality Measures
We are committed to providing quality healthcare to our rural community and want to ensure that financial concerns do not hinder access to necessary services. If you have further questions regarding insurance coverage or billing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.
At Melissa Memorial Hospital, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of care we provide to our community. Our commitment to health equity drives us to ensure that every patient receives personalized, compassionate care, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Here are some of our key quality initiatives:
Colorado ALTO Project Participation
We are proud to be part of the Colorado ALTO Project, which aims to reduce the use of opioids in emergency departments across the state. This initiative allows us to implement more effective pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs. Our goal is to improve pain relief while also promoting patient independence and restoring quality of life.
Focus on Pain Management
Understanding that pain management is crucial for patient recovery, our clinicians are specially trained to address both the physical and emotional symptoms of pain. We strive to utilize a variety of treatments that go beyond opioids, ensuring that each patient’s unique pain experience is effectively managed.
Addressing the Opioid Crisis
With Colorado facing significant challenges related to opioid misuse, our hospital is dedicated to addressing this issue responsibly. While we recognize that there are situations where opioid treatment is necessary, our commitment is to explore and prioritize alternative therapies when feasible. This balanced approach helps us meet the needs of all patients in our care.
Encouraging Feedback and Questions
We welcome and encourage questions from our community. If you have any inquiries about our quality initiatives or specific patient care procedures, please reach out to Megan Shields, Director of Quality, at (970) 854-2241.
