Billing Options

You are here: Home / Financial Services / Billing Options

The world of healthcare may have some of the most complex billing regulations and requirements. Understanding how your bill is determined, how much you are responsible for, as well as what options you have to pay your bill can be a daunting process.

The teams at MMH Business Office, Accounting, Finance, and Health Information Management are here to assist you in understanding insurance coverage and managing medical expenses. We understand that the cost of healthcare can be high, and we aim to provide you with the necessary tools and resources to manage your financial well-being.

We encourage you to establish payment arrangements before your visit to eliminate any surprises after the service. It is important to have a complete understanding of your insurance coverage to prepare for your next procedure or visit effectively. Most insurance policies require patients to pay a portion of medical expenses in the form of co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles, or a combination of these.

We know that meeting medical payment obligations can be challenging, and we have developed payment options to accommodate your needs. Payment is due at the time of service. As a not-for-profit hospital, we depend on timely payment of services so that we can continue to provide high-quality medical care to our community.

We offer various financial assistance programs, such as Colorado Medicaid, hospital discounted care, and the Colorado Indigent Care Program. Our financial counselors will also assist in reviewing your insurance and letting you know what your portion of a visit would be. We offer discounts for patients that pay their bills within 30 days of their 1st statement date or at the time of service.

Applications for Colorado Medicaid and Hospital Discounted Care are available at our hospital, and we assist you in filling out and completing the application. Documentation requirements for the application are current pay stubs (at least 3 months) or your last year’s tax return for anyone working in your household, a copy of your driver’s license, and a copy of your insurance, if any.

To be eligible for the Hospital Discounted Care program, you will need to bring in documentation such as current pay stubs (at least 3 months) or last year’s tax return for each working member of the household, copies of receipts or bills for rent/mortgage, utilities, house/car insurance, your driver’s license, and your medical insurance card if you have any.

CICP is a copay-based program calculated from a sliding fee schedule. This program is available for Colorado residents only and is available to many patients who are not eligible for Medicaid.
