Public Affairs Specialist

Melissa Memorial Hospital (MMH) is searching for a part-time Public Affairs Specialist (PAS) to help promote, communicate and market the internal and external image, mission, vision and tell the MMH story. The PAS position requires a highly organized individual with proven written, oral, digital communication skills and strategies.  The PAS will develop processes and procedures as they relate to internal and external communications, public relations, marketing, social media, blogs, hospital events, awards and recognition.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in healthcare related area; or equivalent education, training and experience PLUS
    • Two (2) years’ experience in healthcare; and/or
    • Two (2) years’ experience in either (or all) community relations, marketing, or as healthcare public information officer
  • Pristine communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving
  • Strong volunteerism
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to manage project tasks, timelines and multiple priorities
  • Ability to influence all stakeholders
  • Ability to lead others in a team environment
  • Knowledge of best and emerging industry practices
  • Demonstrates good judgment, resourcefulness & flexibility
  • Proficient with personal computer based productivity tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in social media skills and social media campaigns
  • Experience in all other media campaigns (radio, print, television)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related area; or equivalent education, training and experience
  • Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare
  • Five (5) years’ experience in either (or all) community relations, marketing, as healthcare public information officer
  • Experience with marketing, public relations, social media campaigns, newspaper, disaster preparedness
